my department's having a "stress test" now
we are supposed to be down with SARS
no no no
choy!
i mean, we are quarantined at home
so nobody is recalleable
my work is being covered by my colleagues at Haw Par
so technically speaking
i'm supposed to do NOTHING now
this testing thing is gonna last till 11.30
purpose of it is to make sure that we are operational
in the event of disaster(s)
well, if u ask me, it looks workable only on paper
and for show to the management
to let them noe that we are perpared
but c'mon, we are prepared?
to what extent?
singapore is so small
it's impossible to be unaffected
if something serious happens
we will all be affected in one way or the other
and for every test, we make assumptions
to make the test slightly easier
we assume that so and so is on leave [as opposed to being quarantined]
which means we can recall her back
but what about in the event that she's not recallebale?
like if she's overseas? or affected by SARS?
there's an infinite number of possibilities
how to plan for every variable?
what's more
we noe about the test way before hand
we plan for it
we pass our duties over the day before
coz we can't afford to have a surprise test
too much risk
significant impact on clients
so, how accurate will this test be?
