my favourite month
coz it's my bdae!!
hehe
sumthing to look forward to
though i've got no plans yet
hmm
took leave on my bdae and the following mon
and tues is deepavali
so i get to rest for a stretch of five days!!
hehehe
BUT
no plans yet leh
too lazy to think lah
to many people
it's just another day actually
but somehow
i always wake up feeling a wee bit different
haha

pls dun ask me wat i want ok
i like surprises
so if i tell u wat i want and u go get it for me
there wun be any surprise
it's the thought dat counts
so, dun worry abt the pressies
knowing dat u tink of me as a fren will be enuff
=)

tink from now till end of the month
i'll be reminded of my bdae everyday
coz my job requires me to key announcements into a system
and many announcements made now has my birthdate
so i'll typing it very often
haha

the coming week will be a hectic one at work
coz my colleague's on leave
and i'm her leave cover
and i barely know her work
and my own work volume is slowly peaking
she's been on leave since thurs
will be back 2 tuesdays from now
wish me luck man
but
looking on the bright side
it' during such long periods of time
dat i really learn something
coz i get 1st-hand experience doin everything hands-on
juz hope i wun make too many mistakes
and cause too much trouble for other pple
hahaha

went edalene's house last nite
with zhenjin
we were supposed to have an all-girls' dvd and piggin' session
but guess wat we did in the end
cut and pasted band scores
coz we are performing "the saint and the city"
but the french horn part is missing
i tried to scan the score
but somehow it turned out to be pretty unprintable
so we decided to photocopy the conductor's score
and cut and paste every part
when we realised how tedious the job was
3 of us started complaining like crazy
here are a few of our lines..
"why are 3 young ladies wasting a friday nite doin this"
"and we are not even french horn players"
"ok, zhenjin is, but she's not perfoming for concert!"
"and antz is happily looking after his baby at home"
"we are supposed to be watching dvds"
"at this rate, how to finish 3 movies?"
"and all our snacks"
"ok, we go claim from antz"
"so little space in between!"
"so difficult to cut with all the slurs and crescendoes!!"
"cannot ah, muz leave some space at the end of the score"
"and sign our names big big"
"so everyone knows"
"and future juniors know also"
"scally we do so much, then in the end they dun wanna use it for concert"
"i dun care ah, muz make the band play it at least 20 times!"
we were like factory production workers
zhenjin cut the scores
eda and i glue and paste
and used liquid paper to erase the additional bar lines
so it's easier to read
there was space left at the end
so we wrote this for credits..

narcissistic?
YES
but we dun care
tink we deserve the acknowledgement
hahaha
we started watching our dvds only at 11+
we rented from videoezy
3 for $13.50 for 7 days
we got "confessions of a teenage drama queen"
"the prince and i" and "a lot like love"
we watched the drama queen show
and decided to pass the other 2 around
i finished watching a lot like love
pretty nice show
romantic and all

went swimming at toa payoh tdae
managed 20 laps =)
finally bought my contact lenses
and found out dat i actually have astigmatism
very slight
enuff to affect me at night
but not enuff to render production for disposable lenses
so i gotta make do wif normal ones
hmm
i really hope it doesn't increase
coz the price for disposable toric lenses are exorbitant

band prac was fun
tiring but fun
and u noe wat
there were no french horn players
we could have taken our time to cut and paste the missing score loh

prac was kinda retro
we played pieces like queen's park melody and oregon
reminded us of sec sch days
when such pieces were such a hit
tried this plastic mouthpiece
makes my sound less metallic and more mellow
but much flatter
so i had to adjust the tuning slides a lot
it's good for classics
and training of stamina
coz it's deep-funnel shaped
which makes pitching of high notes difficult
even for the normal-range notes
more air is needed to sustain the sound
but with some training and getting used to
it shld be ok
i kinda like it but it's $42 leh
for a piece of plastic
hmm
and it comes in different colours
my friend and i were imagining dat
all lower brass players get one such mouthpiece
but in different colours
so when we sit in a row and look across
we'll see an array of colours
wat a sight it will be
hahaha
